Web Development: Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc.

This medical company brought me in to revamp the flagship website. Though it had a solid CSS structure, the appearance was dated. They did have several requests:

  • The existing CSS wrappers needed to remain. Any new styling needed to maintain the current CSS.
  • The front-end needed to work with the existing .NET infrastructure.
  • The pages need to be editable by someone with little or no HTML knowledge.

The developer and I setup a back-end CMS that allowed the content of each page to be edited using a dynamic content placeholder so that anyone could edit the "meat" of the page without having to edit the markup. The header and footer were embedded in a master file that worked as a template for the entire site.

Unfortunately, an issue came up that the business was not aware of or able to fix in which their site content was being duplicated across several URLs, making major search engines exclude the site from indexing. Therefore, I was unable to apply any SEO capabilites to the site, resulting in a large loss of potential revenue for the company.
